This one came out of one of those sessions where you just get tired of smiling happy people using the product you’re selling. I went to the stock photography archives and looked for the most interesting picture that had nothing to do with internet or communications.
The keywords, erroneous or not, included Africa and beach. This is what came of it and of the three I showed the client, this was the unexpected winner.
Dial-Up Dan is in homage to the classical painters that painted themselves in as bystanders in paintings. My client, our legal counsel that had to approve the mailing, and myself are all named Dan.
